LOMMI Reaches the Philippines “We arrived safe and sound last night by God’s guidance and blessing.  Thank you so much for your prayers.  We are getting ready today to go to the first leg of our mission work.  It is 6 hours drive from the capital city.  Please continue to pray for our safe travel.  In addition, last night, I was able to meet another Baptist pastor and he is willing to accommodate me to speak about God’s appointed Feasts to his congregation on May 3.  He showed so much interest about the Passover Seder.  He said that his congregation has a weekly attendance of around 200, and we will communicate again for details.  Please pray for this, as I will keep you updated regularly so that you can lift us up in your prayers.  Please send our love and greetings to everyone in the Congregation and around the work.  We are very much encouraged with their love and support.  God Bless, Richard                                                                                                    Richard Sisson 2009-04-22

On Tuesday April 21 LOMMI community worker Richard Sisson arrived in the Philippians with his wife, two children, his mother and his father.  They landed in Manila beginning a ministry adventure, which will last for over a month.  During this time on the island nation, Richard will promote the work of LOMMI and he will be teaching in local congregations on the Jewish roots of the faith.  His messages of encouragement cover such topics as the introductions on the various Feasts of God and he will be presenting Messiah in the Passover.  Please pray for Richard and his family as they travel around the Island and attend to the Word.  Also, please consider collaborating with Richard and LOMMI and become a supporter of this work.  If you would like more information, please contact our office at 1-877-250-8906/416-250-8906 or you may also e-mail us at info@messianicreport.com .    Blessings, Dr. Don MeechaDirector

What is does "Messianic" mean?

Messianic Judaism is a community who believes that Yeshua (Jesus) of Nazareth is both the resurrected Jewish Messiah and our divine savior. As of 1993 there were 160,000 adherents of Messianic Judaism in the United States and 350,000 worldwide. As of 2003, there were at least 150 Messianic synagogues in the U.S. and over 400 worldwide.

We practice our faith to be authentically Torah-observant and culturally Jewish. The Torah is the first 5 books of the Old Testament, also commonly know as the Book of Moses or the Book of Law. Messianic Jews celebrate the Jewish festivals and feast days as instructed in the Hebrew Scriptures.

When did Messianic Judaism start?

In reality, Messianic Judaism began 2,000 years ago. Yeshua himself was an observant Jew, along with many of His apostles and the writers of the Brit Chadashah (New Covenent). People often do not recognize that Yeshua was our Jewish Savior, and He faithfully observed God’s Appointed Times as a Jew.

Unfortunately, Jews and many Christians inaccurately do not consider Messianic Judaism to be a form of Judaism; however, that is not the case! We do not stop being Jewish, but rather we continue to remain strong in our Jewish identity, lifestyle and culture, while following Yeshua as He is revealed in the Brit Chadashah (New Covenant). Many Messianic Jews refer to themselves as “completed Jews” since they believe that their faith in the God of Israel has been “completed” or fulfilled in Yeshua.
